We are pleased to recognize an outstanding academic achievement by one of our students at Greenbrier Middle School.

Sara Daoud, a 12-year-old seventh grader, earned the distinction of Runner-Up in the Georgia Association of Educators State Spelling Bee. Competing through 14 challenging rounds, Sara demonstrated exceptional spelling ability, a strong command of vocabulary, and admirable focus throughout the competition.

Her success at the state level led her to represent Georgia at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland. There, she advanced to the semi-final round, placing her among the top young spellers in the nation.

In recognition of her accomplishments, Sara has been invited to the Georgia State Capitol later this month for a photo opportunity and a meet-and-greet with the Governor.

We are proud of Sara’s hard work and dedication, and we commend her for representing Greenbrier Middle School and the state of Georgia with such distinction. We also acknowledge the support of her principal, Ms. Toni Cliatt, and the school community in helping her reach this milestone.

Congratulations, Sara, on this well-deserved recognition.

GHSA State Track and Field Championship

We are proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of our student-athletes from Evans High School, Greenbrier High School, Grovetown High School, and Lakeside High School, who competed in the GHSA Girls and Boys Track & Field State Championships.

The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) State Track and Field Competition represents the highest level of competition for high school athletes across the state. To qualify for this prestigious event, athletes must first advance through both regional and sectional meets, placing in the top four at the regional level and in the top eight at sectionals. With each region comprising 8 to 12 schools and each section including four regions, the path to the state meet is both rigorous and highly competitive.

Earning a place at the state meet is a significant accomplishment and a testament to the dedication, discipline, and athletic excellence of these students. Competing at this level is a goal many strive for, and for those who achieve it, it is truly a moment of pride and celebration.

Great job, students and coaches!
