PSAT 8/9
The PSAT 8/9 is offered to all CCSD 8th grade students. The PSAT 8/9 assesses skills in reading, writing, and math, and serves as a baseline for tracking academic progress throughout high school. Unlike the PSAT/NMSQT, the PSAT 8/9 is not used for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
The PSAT 8/9 is divided into two parts, reading and writing and math. The time allotted for each section is 60 minutes, for a total of two hours on the testing day. The reading and writing and math sections of the digital PSAT 8/9 are designed to measure success with building critical college and career readiness knowledge in literacy and math.
The PSAT 8/9 is available for any 8th grade home study student who resides in the Columbia County School District. Please contact the middle school where the student is zoned for registration and testing information, and please refer to the CCSD Assessment Calendar for assessment dates. Registration must be completed through the middle school where the student is zoned and is due at the end of September each year.
